Curriculum Outline:

  • Day 1:
      • Introduction to Mobile Cranes (3 hours): Types of mobile cranes (telescopic, lattice boom) and Nigerian safety regulations (e.g., DPR standards for oil and gas sites).
      • Crane Setup and Safety (3 hours): Site assessment, crane positioning, outrigger deployment, and ground stability checks.
      • Load Charts and Planning (2 hours): Interpret load charts and understand crane capacity.
  • Day 2:
      • Operation Techniques (5 hours): Learn crane controls, load handling, and basic slinging/rigging.
      • Practical Training (3 hours): Set up a mobile crane and perform a test lift at the training center.
  • Day 3:
      • Advanced Practical Training (4 hours): Lift and move loads in a simulated construction site scenario.
      • Emergency Procedures and Assessment (4 hours): Handle crane tipping and load swing; practical assessment (lift operation, 2 hours); written test on safety and load charts (2 hours).
