Curriculum Outline:

  • Day 1:
      • Introduction to Rigging and Slinging (2 hours): Rigging equipment (slings, shackles), applications, and Nigerian Ports Authority safety standards.
      • Load Calculations and Safety (3 hours): Calculate load weights, center of gravity, and inspect rigging equipment.
      • Basic Rigging Techniques (3 hours): Sling loads and attach to cranes.
  • Day 2:
      • Practical Training (5 hours): Perform rigging/slinging in a simulated marine/factory setup, lifting a load with a crane.
      • Assessment (3 hours): Practical assessment (rig and lift load, 2 hours); written test on safety and load calculations (1 hour).
